With arrows flying everywhere and your enemies trying to hit you with their swords, wearing armour is what could be the difference from you staying alive or dying. Although armour can be penetrated up close with a sword getting hit from far with an arrow wouldn’t penetrate the armour, but if you didn’t have armour, your skin would.

Chainmail and Plate Armour.
Chainmail and Plate Armour.
Plate armour is a type of armour that was worn all around the body. This armour was really heavy unlike the Chainmail and it wasn’t flexible. This armour was made of steel and it was hard to penetrate but when getting hit it by a weapon, it will carry you down if you’re not strong enough to wear it.
Chainmail was a type of armour that was usually put under plate armour, or when there was no plate armour, worn by itself. Chainmail are made from small metal rings that link up together. The advantages of this armour are that it is easy to move in it, it is light and it is hard to slash but it can be easily penetrated by piercing weapons.
